Down to earth place with fantastic food. Their dry saimin noodles are out of this world. The yakitori chicken is also very delicious. The staff are very friendly and the service is super fast once you get seated. There is often a wait for seats but it is quite worth it. For a 4-5 days trip, we ended up dining here twice. Goes to show great this place is.
We had to wait a bit before getting seated. It’s not a huge place. Parking wasn’t difficult. Service was decent. I got the loco moco. It was good comfort food at a reasonable price. I loved the eggs and gravy over rice. Hamburger meat was soft. Many locals come here.
They are usually very busy so we ordered take out, but were pleasantly surprised to find out there was only a very short wait if we wanted to dine in. The parking lot is small, so it helps to have someone wait in the car and another person run out to pick up the food. Service was quick and friendly!
The Dry Noodles are highly recommended so we ordered some other items to try. The Teriyaki Plate Lunch came with a large scoop of rice, scoop of mac salad, and generous portion of teriyaki beef. Although it doesn’t look pretty, the beef was so tender and flavorful! Definitely an underrated dish here. The Lima (Butter Bean) and Azuki (Red Bean) Manju were also nice little treats to have after our meal. Soft and subtly sweet. The best local manju we’ve had!
Delicious food in a local spot that reminds me of HK cha can ting. Everything was homey and comforting.
Especially loved the wonton noodles. The wontons tasted handmade with a thick, chewy wrapper, and a juicy, chewy meat filling. Would go back if I visit again!
I heart this Saimin house so much! Everytime I come to the island I visit this little gem. Tucked in an industrial area, you have to know where to go, and the locals certainly do! The beef sticks are my favorite to pair alongside a nice bowl of Saimin. I could eat this every single day. The broth is perfect, the noodles are superior and the service is wonderful. This is a no-fuss kind of establishment, and it's one I would recommend to anyone.
Amazing food and great price! Dry noodles are a must.
Really good local food. We got there around lunch time and only had to wait about five minutes. I'd say they had taken our order about 5 minutes after that and our food out in another 5 minutes. They really try to get you in and out fast. The good was great and also very cheap for Maui. Service was excellent. They offered my wife a couple of suggestions.
Try it out if you want a quick meal.
Everyone stop by for dry noodles and beef bbq sticks. The dry noodles is a must but don't let the bowl size fool you. We ordered a large and shared it between my wife and I. The noodles are perfectly cooked and chewy. There's also bits of charsiu in it and some are crunchy which gives it a good surprise. The bbq beef stick is winnas too. Tender thin slices of beef in their special marinade is a great compliment to the dry noodles. We also enjoyed the chow fun and loco moco.
Just remember to go there with patience. They're short staffed and working hard to feed everyone. Get there early and be prepared to wait...but it's so worth it.
